The Candidate and Responsibilities


The position is based out of Vancouver and supports both the Investor Relations and Investment teams. This position reports directly to the Director of Investor Relations.   

 

Applicants for this position will be self-motivated individuals with a high degree of initiative and will possess strong interpersonal skills, be attentive to detail, possess critical thinking and analytical skills, and able to build trusting relationships.

 

This role is responsible for the following:

 

Investor Relations Support


  • Track communicating and managing the department’s IR Action list (departmental calendar).
  • Collaborate with other departments on inter-departmental deliverables to ensure various initiatives are completed within a timely manner.
  • Assist with the creation and preparation of presentations, reports, and other documents.
  • Management of highly confidential investor contact lists and responsible for updating and maintaining the comprehensive investor database (Salesforce) including tracking investor requests/deliverables.
  • Assist both Investor Relations and Investments in planning and executing stewardship of existing investors and fundraising initiatives of any subsequent private equity funds.
  • Responsible for scheduling and tracking investor meetings and quarterly calls and assisting with the preparation of those meetings and calls, including but not limited to, setting up meeting rooms and equipment, including dial-in, snacks, beverages, etc.
  • Assist in the scheduling of investor meetings.
  • Maintain a well-organized filing system that permits easy reference and rapid retrieval of information.
  • Assist with Fund closings (ensuring documents are in order, accurate filing of executed documents).
  • Assist with Capital Call and Distribution process (accurate tracking of incoming funds, communication to other departments as required).
  • Support Investor Portal implementation, management and maintenance.
  • Aligning with the IR Business Plan, responsible for creating and maintaining support process documents and updating current processes (HWAY).
  • Compose or proofread external messaging where applicable, will include emails, notices, updates etc.
  • Act as point of contact with investors where necessary. Ensuring timely responses to investor questions and coordinating responses with Andrew Hungerford and other departments.

 

Event Planning Support

 

  • Facilitate Advisory Board meetings and approvals where the Director of Investor Relations is not available.
  • Facilitating Investment Committee meetings where the Director of Investor Relations is not available.
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of the Annual General Meeting [AGM], investor events, and other events as required (both onsite and offsite).
  • Budget tracking and expense reporting for special events.

 

 

Fundraising Support


  • Oversee investor database and identify potential investors for a given investment strategy.
  • Schedule meetings and travel to meetings and following up with investors as needed.
  • Coordinate investor due diligence requests and data room.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party fundraisers where applicable.

Investments Support 


  • Provide administrative support to VP of Investments and assist the investments team in the preparation and administration related to fundraising presentations and meetings.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

Competencies, Qualifications and Requirements


  • Undergraduate degree and at least 3 years' experience in investor relations, communications, and/or business administration.
  • Experience in editing and proofreading documents.
  • Real Estate or Investor Relations experience is an asset but not mandatory.
  • High proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Salesforce (or any Customer Relationship Database) experience is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is an asset but not mandatory.

  • Superior time management and multitasking skills with a strong sense of urgency under minimal supervision.
  • Organized, planful, and task-oriented.
  • Self-motivated and possesses a high level of professionalism.
  • Excellent command of English grammar.

Our Compensation & Benefits Philosophy

 

Our compensation package includes a competitive base salary, a cash bonus, and a potential Long-Term Incentive program.  We also offer an extended benefits plan, internal corporate training, and support for education.
