The Candidate and Responsibilities
The Development Accounting Clerk position is based out of Vancouver.
Applicants for this position will be self-motivated individuals with a high degree of initiative and will possess strong interpersonal skills, be attentive to detail, and able to build trusting relationships. The candidate will report directly to the Director of Development.
The Development Accounting Clerk will be active in the following primary responsibilities both in an individual and team setting:
§Accounting activities, including: matching documents, processing invoices for approval, tracking invoices against contracts, and other invoice processing-related tasks
§Prepare expense reports for employees, as required
§Liaise and coordinate with the Development Managers on the completion of monthly development accruals
§Review monthly accruals against actuals to ensure accuracy
§Maintain systematic filing of invoicing and contract records
§Respond to requests and inquiries from other departments and external vendors
§Assist in the preparation of supporting working papers and documentations for reporting, as required
§Provide general support to documentation and administration processes
§Coordinate and schedule roles and tasks for Project Monthly Draw, ensuring that all the documents are properly received and named to complete the requirements
§Administering and monitoring consultant contracts, invoices and extra work authorizations
§Liaising with Accounting Group to ensure all project cost control reports are kept up to date and to ensure accuracy of information
§Other responsibilities as required
§Completion of Accounting diploma/certificate or equivalent post-secondary program
§Experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable role with a Developer or General Contractor is preferred
§Knowledge of Yardi 7s is an asset
§Excellent customer service and strong organizational and time management skills
