The Revenue Accountant Assistant responsibilities will include:

§Maintain Accounts Receivable in accordance with company objectives and standards

§Maintain rent roll and associated charges in Yardi as per lease agreement

§Process all tenant billings, rental notices, etc on a timely and accurate basis and forward to all clients to ensure the availability of all relevant information and to limit the possibility of outstanding accounts

§Review, verify and accurately input a variety of information related to tenants’ leases; prepare correspondence such as, but not limited to, rental notices; liaise on a regular basis with tenants in order to develop and maintain good working relationships

§Prepare accounts receivable reporting and analytics to senior management for collection purposes

§Reconcile accounts receivable tenant balances with credits applied to ensure accuracy and completeness of outstanding amounts owed

§Perform weekly treasury management of multi entity private real estate equity fund to ensure sufficient cash flow for operating, financing, and development costs

§Complete monthly journal entries for property transactions, including both income producing properties and properties under development

§Assist with accounts payable functions, as required

§Create, review and update departmental internal controls and procedural documents related to functional responsibilities

§Process monthly GST filings for the assigned entities and assist in the preparation of GST reconciliations

§Assist with bank reconciliations, as required

§Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting

§Assist in the preparation of supporting working papers and documentations for year-end audit process

§Assist in the annual billing to tenants, including CAM charges, and support property management and development teams in accounting matters

§Participate in the annual budget process

§Provide general support to documentation and administration processes

§Assist Property Accountants and Management with tasks assigned


§ Enrolled in a Professional Accounting designation program (CPA) or post-secondary program to eventually complete the CPA program

§ Minimum 1-2 years accounting experience is ideal

§ Undergraduate degree required

§ Strong interpersonal skills, including effective communicator, both oral and written; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; team player with the ability to interact confidently

§  Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, including effective time management skills, works well under pressure to meet tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities; ability to prioritize workload; ability to work at a detailed level; willingness to learn in a dynamic environment

§ Ambitious and self-motivated with a process-oriented mindset

§ Computer Skills: intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite; knowledge of Yardi Voyager is an asset
